The Little Star that Could

Within a cloud of interstellar gas a condensation forms and warms up until the little star is born. As the little star looks around he sees a sky filled with stars. Visiting with an old star, he learns that stars should have planets to travel along with them. The little star sets off on a search to find planets of his own.
Along his journey, the little star meets cool red stars and hot blue-white stars. He meets double stars, a star cluster, and finally the Milky Way. The little star learns there is a relationship between star colors and temperatures and that stars come in a variety of groupings. His final lesson is that planets form with stars, and that he has a collection of nine planets orbiting around him.
The planets are small, dark worlds with familiar names; Mercury is closest, Venus is very hot, Pluto is very cold but has a moon, Saturn has moons and rings, Uranus and Neptune are twins, Jupiter is largest, Mars is colorful, and Earth has life. The planets give the little star his name, Sol, and they form his Solar System which lives in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way.
