Object Care

The care taken in preserving the Museum’s collection can also be applied to the care of family heirlooms and antiques. The American Institute for Conservation provides on-line, detailed information for care of artifacts at http://aic.stanford.edu/library/online/brochures/.

The collections staff at the Museum is able to provide basic advice on how to care for family objects, particularly photographs, documents, costumes and textiles. Once a year the Museum offers a free public workshop on the care of family documents and photographs.
